Normand Landry, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC at the age of 90. Born in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Alyre and Exelda (Dupuis) Landry. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was a lobster fisherman, hunter, and trapper.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Doiron) Landry and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Arice and Alphée; three sisters: Irène Doiron, Hélèna Justason and Bertha Lirette.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Monday, January 4, 2020 from 9 to 11 am only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church, 2646 chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé on Monday, January 4 at 11 am. Interment in the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila parish cemetery, Cap-Pelé. The funeral will be videotaped and posted later in the afternoon on his obituary on our website.
In memory of Normand, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila parish would be greatly appreciated.
