Alphée Landry


Alphée Landry

Alphée Landry, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC at the age of 89 years. Born in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Alyre and Exelda (Dupuis) Landry.

Before his retirement, Alphée was first a lobster fisherman. He also fished crab, herring, and mackerel. He was a house and a boat builder. He loved to get a coffee with his brother and go to the Aboiteau wharf to talk with the local fishermen. He cherished his time with family and friends either at the camp or his shed. He also spent time at his own mill.

He is survived by his three daughters: Rita Landry (Louis Brun) of Shediac, Pauline of Cap-Pelé and Charline Hamilton (Jeff) of Dieppe; two sons: Ronald (Norma Vautour) and Louis of Cap-Pelé; his brother, Normand (Lorraine);a sister-in-law, Simonne Landry; five grandchildren: Vanessa, Joël, Ashley, Cory, and Isabel; two great-grandchildren: Indie from Australia and Evelyn, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Béatrice Landry (2016) and his siblings: Hélèna Justason, Arice Landry, Bertha Lirette and Irène Doiron.

The family will receive condoléances at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Monday, December 28 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be held at the Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R. C. Church, 2646 rue Acadie, Cap-Pelé on Tuesday, December 29 at 2 pm.

Limit of 50 persons in the funeral home at any given time during visitation. Social distancing regulations will be in effect.  Masks are mandatory to enter the funeral centre.

In memory of Alphée, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on 4C for their excellent care of Alphée.
