Donald "P.I." Richard
1946-2009
Donald "P.I." Alban Richard, 62, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, May 19 at The Saint John Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born December 15, 1946 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Alban and Edmée (Pellerin) Richard.
Educated in Moncton, Donald learned his trade with his father. He operated P.I. Richard's Meat Market at it’s first location on King Street then relocated to Milner Road, it's present address, since 1986.
He is survived by his bride of 38 years, Joyce (née Surette); his loving son, Daniel (Justine Stabel), and the apple of his eye, granddaughter Kennedy of Leduc, Alberta; his sisters: Phyllis Duguay (late Norman) of Shediac, Lucille Leger (Léandre) of Cormier Village, Annette Cooper (Keith) of Charlottetown, his in-laws: Jack Surette (Aldéa), Janet Ward (Bob), Millie Richard, many nieces, and nephews.
A brother, Léo-Paul predeceased him.
The family will receive condolences and sharing of memories at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Friday, May 22 from 7-9 p.m. ONLY.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, on Saturday, May 23 at 10:30 a.m., Father Phil Mulligan officiating.
