Alfred J. Boisvert
Alfred J. Boisvert, 104 and a half years old, passed away on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. He was the husband of the late Ozélie Bernard (2002). Born on September 16, 1915 in Rogersville, he was the son of the late Joseph Boisvert and Emma Thibodeau.
He is survived by three children: Guy W. Boisvert (Estelle), and Lise Boisvert (Gérald), both of Bathurst, and Bernard Boisvert of Saint-Louis-de-Kent; as well, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Boisvert was a teacher in New Brunswick as well as in Québec. He was a professor at the École normale in Fredericton as well as at the Université de Moncton. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, council 6468, Parkton, Moncton.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude towards the staff of the Manoir Brise de l’Oasis and the Résidence Le Royal of Bathurst for the good care provided to Mr. Boisvert. A sincere thank you to all the staff of the palliative care unit of Chaleur Regional Hospital.
In light of the current Covid19 pandemic, there will be no funeral service at the church or the funeral centre. A family service will take place at the Rogersville parish cemetery at a later date. In memory of Alfred, a contribution to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
