Dorothy "Dorcy" Arsenault

Dorothy "Dorcy" Arsenault, 76, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on December 29, 1943 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Calixte and Emma (Cormier) Mills.

Dorothy was a teacher in Dieppe for 10 years and retired from Statistics Canada after 27 years of service. A truly generous person, Dorcy was involved in many organizations with her husband, always spending her time and energy to anyone in need and expected nothing in return. She loved cooking and many meals were shared with friends and family. Dorothy was a member of Service d’orientation au foyer for 15 years, the Femmes chrétiennes, the Dames Chevalières - council 6468, and accompanied her husband to all functions with the Knights of Columbus, and was even State Deputy’s wife. She liked listening to music and singing, and loved any type of dances, but clogging and line dancing were her favorite. She was also a bowler and a member of the provincial ladies and mix teams. She also enjoyed cottage life for many years in Grand-Barachois.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gérard "Jerry"; two sons: Charles and Joël, both of Moncton; two sisters: Claudia Richard (Alcide) of Dieppe, and Stella Mallais (Patrice), both of Dieppe; two brothers: Mike (Mary Lou) and Bernard (Louise), both of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and friends, especially Alice (late Camille) Melanson.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one infant brother, Junior.

Special thanks to the angels serving on earth at Extra Mural Program and the palliative care unit at The Moncton Hospital for their continued wonderful care provided to Dorcy.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Center, 88 Church Street Moncton on Fridayfrom 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am until time of departure (10:45).
