Jeannette Gaudet, 80, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on July 21, 1938 in Acadieville, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Dorina (Allain) Henri.
Prior to her retirement, Jeannette worked on the switchboard at The Moncton Hospital. She was a former Commissioner with the Girl Guides, past president of the Club d’Âge d’Or Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, volunteer with the St-Vincent-de-Paul, Enviro Plus, Women’s Auxiliary, Le Passage, Mouvement des Femmes chrétiennes, Club d’Âge d’Or Christ-Roi, cribbage and darts committee, as well as past Vice-President of the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Federation.
She is survived by six daughters: Monique LeBlanc (Charles) of Riverview, Charline Wilkins (Darrell), Danielle Jones (Eric Alward), and Chantal Bujold (Jacques), all of Moncton, Lillianne Melanson (Léo) of Oromocto, and Carole Durelle (Gilles) of Memramcook; 12 grandchildren: Matthew, Maurice, Melissa, Lynn, Lise, Melanie, Stephanie, Suzanne, Sylvie, Danika, Benoit, and Alex; 14 great-grandchildren: Alexie, Madelyne, Emeric, Myles, Barry, Renée, Patrick, Emma, Nash, Catherine, Olivia, Charlie, Kate, and Kody; her sisters and brothers: Béatrice Vickers (Byron), Simone Henry, and Joseph A. (Louise), all of Moncton, Robert (Candace) of Wentworth, Rita Langil (Terry) of Halifax, and Laurie (Louise-Anne) of Atholville; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Normand "Pius"; her son, Jean-Maurice; one granddaughter, Martine; one grandson, Serge; one sister, Stella; two brothers: Valerie and infant Maurice; as well as her step-father, Fidèle Aucoin.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours are Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 858 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Friday September 21 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Jeannette, a contribution to Notre-Dame-de-Grâce church would be appreciated.
